  A Minigrid refers to a small-scale electric network that supply electricity to a remote group of customers. They serve a limited number of consumers through a distribution grid that can operate in isolation from national electricity transmission networks.

  Solar Home Systems

  Solar Home Systems are stand-alone photo-voltaic systems that offer a cost-effective means of supplying power for lighting and appliances to remote off-grid households. In rural areas that are not connected to the grid, SHS can be used to meet a household's energy demand, fulfilling basic electric needs.

• IPP

  Independent Power Producer

  An Independent Power Producer is an entity that owns facilities to generate electric power for sale to utilities and end users. They may be privately held enterprises, cooperatives such as rural solar or wind energy producers, and non-energy companies capable of feeding excess energy into the system.

• CPP

  Captive Power Plant

  A Captive Power Plant is a power generation facility used and managed by an industrial or commercial energy user for their own energy consumption. They can operate off-grid or they can be connected to the electric grid to feed excess generation.
